Petroleum Equipment Service of Wilson was started in 1968 by Deryl OBriant and Donald Wiggs and was primarily a petroleum equipment installation company. After a few years, the company acquired several major product lines and started to develop into a sales, service and installation company.
In December 1999, the company was purchased by Butch OBriant (Deryl OBriants son), Bennie Bailey and Brian Vick. The company now employs seventeen. Petroleum Equipment Service is a Wayne Fueling Systems distributor and represents several other major petroleum equipment manufacturers. The installation and service territory is eastern North Carolina. The company sells and ships products throughout the eastern United States.
